Juvenile Services

Juvenile Services works primarily with at-risk and delinquent minors and follows the balanced and restorative justice (BARJ) model which takes in to account the needs of not only the offender but also victims and the community. This unit’s responsibilities include: receiving, investigating, and evaluating complaints indicating delinquency or behavior beyond the control of parents; assists in determining whether or not a petition should be filed or some other action should be taken; conducting preliminary conferences; making referrals to other agencies for treatment or services; counseling and supervising minors referred to court; arranging for placements pursuant to court orders; and, providing probation supervision and protective supervision ordered by the court.
