The Sangamon County Court Services Department is accepting applications for an Administrative Professional position.

Responsibilities

Under direct supervision, responsibilities may include tasks related to: performing receptionist duties, which include greeting the public, giving routine information, answering the telephone and relaying messages, and keeping track of appointments and schedules, all while displaying a professional manner. Opens and distributes daily correspondence to proper personnel. Operates and maintains all office equipment. Becomes competent in the practice of word processing, data base, and spreadsheet programs; performs data entry in each program and verifies accuracy of all entries. Learns and follows all policies and procedures relative to the Tracker data entry system and other related work as required.

Requirements

Graduation from high school; experience in the operation of key entry equipment, multi-line phone, and other standard office equipment. Must pass criminal history and DCFS background checks and provide a negative drug test. Possess a valid driver’s license.

Skills

Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and mathematics; working knowledge of the methods and equipment used in entering and verifying input data; ability to accurately proofread in a timely manner; ability to type at least 60 - 65 words per minute; ability to follow written and oral instructions; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, including adult probationers and juvenile clients.

Benefits

Annual base salary $33,961.00; health, dental, and life insurance; pension plan; deferred compensation option; paid vacation, sick, and personal time.
