Illinois DHS Office of Firearm Violence Prevention Discusses Funding Opportunities with Juvenile Justice Council

Christopher Patterson, Assistant Secretary for the Illinois Department of Human Services Office of Firearm Violence Prevention, met with the Juvenile Justice Council on March 16, 2023 to discuss funding opportunities through his office. Assistant Secretary Patterson noted that firearm violence is a multifaceted challenge that requires a comprehensive solution and that his office is able to work with communities to address these challenges. Assistant Secretary Patterson indicated that Sangamon County is a high priority for his office, and he is looking to partner with community providers who are interested in programs for the prevention of firearm violence.
