Early Voting Begins

The Sangamon County Clerk's Office is reminding residents that early voting for the 2023 municipal elections began on Thursday, February 23rd. Early voting is available to all registered voters who wish to cast their ballot ahead of the official election day, which is Tuesday, April 4th, 2023.

"We encourage all eligible voters to take advantage of our many early vote services, in person or by mail," said Sangamon County Clerk, Don Gray. "It's a convenient way to vote, and it can save you time on election day. You can cast your ballot at your convenience."

Several offices across the County are up for election including City and Village Mayors, City Councils, School Boards, and Community College Districts.

Early voting will be available at the Sangamon South Building on the 1st floor (former State Journal-Register Building), with the entrance on 9th Street between Monroe and Capitol. Early voting hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Early voting will also be available on Saturday March 25th, Saturday April 1st, Sunday March 26th, and Sunday April 2nd, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
